This is a principle I’ve mostly developed to deal w me getting easily overwhelmed from overheating. Since I mostly run or jog to places I overheat frequently, especially in summer; to manage being on time when cutting it close:
Rush Early.
Don’t wait until you have to rush; rush early on. If things go
- well, then I can cool down whilst walking more casually the rest of the way
- bad, then I can at least still catch the train/arrive on time/…
This ofc can be extended in many ways, e.g. ensuring more slack is available later.
